“Waiting patiently” – Seeds of Faith – October 17, 2022

Waiting patiently is something that we lack nowadays. There were times that the Internet speed was just 14.4kbps and we thought that it was already fast. Now, even if you have a 100mbps in your mobile data, you still want more speed. Although Internet speed is important for transactions and research, it is the craving for more speed that has affected us psychologically. We oftentimes do things impulsively and regret it later on.

Waiting patiently is something that the Bible is teaching us. Here are a few things to remember:

First, in due time, God will let you know why you have been told to wait patiently.

Ecclesiastes 7:8 says, “The end of something is better than its beginning. Patience is better than pride.” How many times did this verse come true in your life? So, patiently act and do not hastily act with pride.

Second, have hope that God will do something wonderful in and through your life.

Romans 12:12 says, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” In every situation have the hope that God is working. If you believe that God has a wonderful plan in your life, then you can hope with faith. Moreover, if you are experiencing tribulation, then see it positively and learn from it as you prayerfully surrender it to God.

Paul in Romans 8:25 is reminding us to have hope and wait patiently even if we cannot what is ahead of us — “But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.”

Third, God will answer your prayer in the right time.

Psalm 40:1 says, “I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.” The Psalmist is telling us that God always hear our prayers. It is up to God when is the right time and the right way to answer it. We just have to be patient and believe that God has something wonderful that is in store for us.

Let us continue to hold on to the promise that Hebrew 10:36 tells us. It says, “You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised.”
May God bless us all!

Sincerely,
