Dear friends,
To wait patiently is something that our generation is not accustomed to. We like everything that is fast and instant. But we have to remember the benefits of waiting for God’s own timing in our lives.
In the Bible, there are many stories that God wanted them to wait. Some did not wait for God’s schedule and the result was disastrous. Some who waited for God’s instructions became successful in their endeavors.
Let us now turn to the book of Psalms and see what the psalmists wrote about waiting.
Psalm 27:14 “Wait for the LORD; be strong and take heart and wait for the LORD.”
This means that we have to be confident that in due time, God will make a way. We just have to be emotionally strong as we wait for it.
Psalm 33:20 “We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.”
This means that waiting without hope is futile. Hope is what keep us the power to go on despite of the circumstances. As Christians, our hope is founded on Jesus Christ, and that hope leads us to have faith that someday somehow God will make all things beautiful.
Psalm 37:7 “Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes.”
This means that we should not waver on our faith in God in spite of the bad circumstances that are happening around us. We have to be still and let God work in and through our lives.
Psalm 37:34 “Wait for the LORD and keep his way.”
This means that as waiting for God’s timing in our lives involves obeying the commands of God. Waiting is not idleness. Although God may have not revealed to you His specific plans in your life, this does not mean that we have to stop doing what God commands us to do.
Psalm 38:15 “I wait for you, O LORD; you will answer, O Lord my God.”
This means that our prayers will eventually be answered by God. We can wai patiently because we believe that God hears our prayers. Whatever the answer of God to us, the truth is that God will surely reveal to us His answer to our prayers.
Let us prayerfully wait for God’s timing in our lives!
Sincerely,
