“Align our will with God’s will” – Seeds of Faith – August 14, 2023

Greetings!
We often hear the phrase “God’s will” but some have abused it by running away from the accountability that we have been endowed by God with choices. We should not mistake our “wrong choices” as “God’s will.” There is “God’s will” and then there is a “person’s will.”What we pray is that “our will” will be aligned with “God’s will.”
So, what are the things that we should know with regards to “our will” and “God’s will”? Here are four things to consider using the outline of the word WILL:
W – Wait on God’s Timing
Psalm 27:14 says, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”
In the journey of life, we must learn to wait on God’s timing. We should align our will God by patiently waiting in God’s revelation and trust in God’s plan.
I – Invite God’s Wisdom
Proverbs 3:5-6 says “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.”
When we invite God’s wisdom, our will aligns with His divine purpose. It requires humility to seek God’s guidance in the choices that we make.
L – Love like Jesus
1 John 4:7-8 says, “Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love.”
Our will finds its true alignment when it is motivated by the selfless love of Christ. Loving others the way Jesus loves reflects God’s heart and fulfills His will for our lives.
L – Let go of selfish desires
Philippians 2:3-4 says, “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.”
To align our will with that of God, we must release selfish desires and prioritize what God wants. Surrendering our desires allows God’s greater purpose to shine through us.
May our will be molded and shaped by God who knows us best, and may we continually seek to align our desires with God’s plan.
May God bless us all!
Sincerely,
