There are so many things to be thankful to God. We need it to make it a habit to thank God and thank people. Being grateful changes our outlook in life.
Here are two main things that we need to thank God:
First, thank God for the gift of salvation.
One beloved song says,
“Thank you Lord, for saving my soul
Thank you Lord, for making me whole;
Thank you Lord, for giving to me
Thy great salvation so rich and free.”
If you have received the gift of salvation, then do not forget to thank God every day. 2 Corinthians 9:15 says, “Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!” Indeed, the gift of salvation is indescribable!
We also need to thank the person or persons that shared the Gospel to you. Somebody either preached and we heard it, or someone shared Jesus Christ to you one on one. Please remember to tell them that your life was changed because they shared the Gospel to you.
Secondly, thank God for the gift of family.
We are here on this world because we have a family. Some may not like their family because of abuses or something bad happened. Nevertheless, we should remember that we have a father and a mother who gave birth to us.
In the Bible, there are many stories of bad families that resulted to bad children who disobeyed God. There are also inspiring stories that when a family leader or leaders repented from their ways, God has blessed their lineage. Just remember that one of the grandmothers of Jesus is Rahab the prostitute. Because of her transformation, she was included as one of ther heroes of faith in Hebrews 11.
So, thank God for your family, and pray for them. One of the best things that you can do to your family members is to share the Gospel to them. Just imagine how joyful it is to spend our eternity with our family in heaven.
Let us make it a habit to live a thankful life!
May God bless us all! Happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
