“How do you spend your time?” – Seeds of Faith – May 24, 2021

We all know that time is precious. We cannot turn back the time that we have wasted away. Our smart watches will oftentimes remind us to stand up and walk after an hour. We have then realized that an hour has already passed by, and we have not been productive about it. How then do we spend our time? What can the Bible teach us in spending our time?
First, we need to be intentional with our time.
Nobody can say that Jesus was not successful. All of us who have read about Jesus in the Bible would conclude that He had done what He came to do. He finished His mission.
But have you ever pondered on how many years did Jesus do His mission? The Bible recorded that Jesus started His public ministry at the age of 30. There was no record between the ages of 12 to 30. There is a story about His birth and their escape to Egypt, and then fast forward to a story when He was 12. He died, resurrected and ascended at the age of 33.
Some of us cannot yet figure out what career, who will be our life partner, and other choices at the age of 30, and then be successful at the age of 33. Some of us would clamor for more time.
How about we become intentional with our time? Let us be like Jesus who committed His time towards achieving His mission.
Second, we must invest our time in what has eternal value.
Basic financial knowledge would tell us that when we invest our money in something, there is bound to be an additional value after some time. Sometimes, you lose also.
The Bible tells us that while we invest in things that can help us daily, we must not forget to invest day by day in what has eternal consequences.
Ecclesiastes 3:11 says, “God has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.” This verse is telling us that whether we accept or deny it, we know deep in our hearts that there is eternity.
If there is eternity, then make sure to make a choice to spend your eternity with God. A lifespan of 80 or 90 is nothing compared to eternity.
When you commit your life to Jesus now, God will make all things beautiful in its own time.
May God bless us all!
Sincerely,
