“Let us fight evil” – Seeds of Faith – July 20, 2020

Evil is real. There are people who deliberately decided to practice is evil. Some may be a victim of their circumstances such as being born to a family who does what is evil, and some made a choice to succumb to the temptations of the Devil.

In Proverbs 6, Solomon aptly summarized seven things that God hates. Hate is a strong word. This means that God abhors these seven things and is disgusted of people who choose to exercise these things.

Proverbs 6:17 to 19 say, “There are six things the Lord hates, seven that are detestable to him:

1. haughty eyes,
2. a lying tongue,
3. hands that shed innocent blood,
4. a heart that devises wicked schemes,
5. feet that are quick to rush into evil,
6. a false witness who pours out lies,
7. and a person who stirs up conflict in the community.”

If God hates these seven things, then those who follow the Lord Jesus Christ must detest these things as well. This means that we must not do these things, and we must watch out for people who are doing these and stop them.

Let us not forget that evil things may happen to any of us because somebody will deliberately do it. Even amidst the pandemic, evil people lurks and are just waiting to pounce. Let us pray, be vigilant, and fight evil!

May God bless us all!

Sincerely,

Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on
