“Lessons from the Triumphal Entry of Jesus” – Seeds of Faith – April 3, 2023

The Palm Sunday celebration is the first day of the Holy. What lessons can we learn from this event?

Here are two lessons:

First, be excited to praise Jesus Christ.

Matthew 21:9 says, “And the crowds that went before him and that followed him were shouting, ‘Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!'”

The crowds who saw Jesus entering Jerusalem were excited and joyful. They recognized him as their king and savior, and they welcomed him with shouts of praise and adoration.

Today, we can also be excited and joyful about Jesus’ coming into our lives. We can shout out our praises to him, expressing our gratitude and love for all that he has done for us.

But this should be consistent. We know that these people who shouted praise where the same people who most probably shouted to crucify Jesus Christ a few days later.

Second, watch out for people who will detract your faith.

Luke 19:39-40 says, “And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, ‘Teacher, rebuke your disciples.’ He answered, ‘I tell you, if these were silent, the very stones would cry out.'”

Not everyone was happy about the Triumphal Entry of Jesus. The religious leaders felt threatened by Jesus’ popularity and influence, and they wanted him to silence his followers. But Jesus knew that his message and mission could not be silenced or suppressed, even if it meant that the rocks themselves would cry out in praise.

Today, we may also face opposition or challenges to our faith. But we can trust that God’s truth and love will prevail, even in the face of resistance or persecution. We can stand firm in our convictions and continue to proclaim Jesus as our Lord and Savior, knowing that He is with us always.

May God bless us all!

Sincerely,
