“Thanking God for the Body of Christ” – Seeds of Faith – November 27, 2023

If you are a Christian, then you are part of a local church. This local church is part of the Church, the Body of Christ. In this Thanksgiving Month, let us express our gratitude for the Body of Christ, the Church.
First, Thank God that the Church is one Unified Body.
“Just as a body, though one, has many parts, but all its many parts form one body, so it is with Christ.” (1 Corinthians 12:12)
This verse beautifully depicts the vision God has for His Church. Each of us, as members of this Church, represents different parts of this Body. Some may be hands; others might be eyes or feet.
However diverse our roles may be, we are united in purpose and function to make up the entire body.
Let us express our gratitude for this beautiful design by actively participating in building up the body through our unique gifts.
Second, Thank God that Church is a Source of Encouragement.
“And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together… but encouraging one another.” (Hebrews 10:24-25)
Our journey as Christians is not meant to be solitary. We are called to walk alongside each other, supporting and encouraging each other in faith and life.
The Church is more than just a building; it’s a living community where we may find comfort in times of sorrow, joy in times of celebration, and encouragement in times of doubt.
As members of this body, we are called to carry each other’s burdens (Galatians 6:2) and rejoice with those who rejoice (Romans 12:15). In this way, we reflect God’s heart towards humanity – His compassion for the hurting and His pleasure in our joys.
Let us give thanks for this spiritual family that stands with us through every season of life.
So, in this month of Thanksgiving, let us once again give thanks to God for the Church.
Happy Thanksgiving!
Sincerely,
Rev. Francis Neil G. Jalando-on
